Endsleigh garden centre opened in 1972 on
the site of a former chrysanthemum nursery. It has grown
steadily since that time under the leadership of MD Robin
Taylor , whose father was head gardener at stately endsleigh
house. One of the largest centres of its kind in the south
west, its friendly, highly trained staff can offer advice on
all gardening needs.
Priding itself on being much more than a
garden centre, Endsleigh plays an active role in the local
community. Its garden room hosts numerous activities throughout
the year, open to the public, including garden club meetings,
craft fairs, and guest speakers on subjects such as plant
pests, bulbs, water gardens and much more.
The centre offers practical demonstrations,
entertainment and a plant clinic. These and other
community-spirited endeavours have earned the centre the
investor in people award, to accompany its award as a garden
centre of excellence. The centre's enormous range of gardening
tools and products includes supplies for watering, feeding,
weed control and any other seasonal jobs.
The aquatics base is the place to stop for
whatever you need to create a thriving water garden. For the
home aquarium, they stock a huge range of tropical fish. Among
the wonderful range of trees, shrubs and flowering and foliage
plants for sale, the centre specialises in sub-tropical plants
including a fine range of palms.
Hardy plants are guaranteed for two years,
and the centre offers a free replanting service for hanging
baskets. There's also an extensive selection of quality dried
and silk flowers, floristry materials, books and gifts in the
large shop area.
